Online casino play on Prince Edward Island
The two Red Shores casinos, in Charlottetown and Summerside, are buildings you walk into, not websites. Online play on the island follows its own rules, and the Island concierge desk sets them out plainly below.

The provincial position
The provincially regulated way to play casino games online in Prince Edward Island is alc.ca. Atlantic Lottery runs it for the PEI Lotteries Commission. The Commission conducts and manages gaming for the province and has delegated this to Atlantic Lottery. Atlantic Lottery, in turn, is owned jointly by the four Atlantic provinces. PEI has no licensing or registration for private online casinos.
Offshore operators sit outside this arrangement. The province's 2023 to 2028 gambling strategy says they have no authority to conduct and manage lottery programs in PEI. Atlantic Lottery says other gambling sites cannot legally operate or advertise in Atlantic Canada. A licence from another country, it adds, does not change this. Players must be 19 or older to purchase, play or redeem Atlantic Lottery products.
How this guide is paid
This guide carries paid links on its home page only, and each one is marked Ad. They appear as a button in the menu, a block below the first screen and a block near the end. All of them lead to one private online casino partner, which pays the guide a commission. The partner can change. It is a separate private business: not alc.ca, not Red Shores, and not Atlantic Lottery or the PEI Lotteries Commission.
Under the provincial position set out above, a private site of this kind has no authority in PEI. You decide with that in view. Should you choose to play anywhere, please play responsibly: set a limit before you begin and keep to it. Every casino game has a house edge, so over time players as a group lose more than they win.
Taking a break online
On alc.ca, players can set their own breaks. A short break runs from 1 to 90 days, and a long break lasts 6, 12, 24 or 36 months. Neither can be reversed once set. Wager screens also carry a Take a Break button.
Break in Play, the Red Shores self-exclusion program, is separate. It covers the gaming floors in Charlottetown and Summerside. PlayWise Advisors answer questions about it at 902-620-4267.
